The construction project of ChemChina's Haohua Zigong Industry Base was launched on June 16 in Yantan Industrial Park, Zigong city, Sichuan province. Li Chuncheng, deputy secretary of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Liu Jie, deputy governor, Xie Hong, vice chairman of the CPPCC provincial committee, Ren Jianxin, general manager of ChemChina, Fu Xiangsheng, deputy secretary of the ChemChina Party Committee, and Hu Dongchen, general manager of China Haohua Chemical (Group) corporation, attended the ceremony.
The base is part of the transformation of ChemChina’s Sichuan subsidiaries and essential for Sichuan to construct the West China economic highland, as well as a step for Zigong to implement its industrialization and urbanization strategy. Liu Jie pointed out that the industry base promotes the industrial and economic development in Sichuan province, which entails the industrial transformation of the city. He called on all provincial and municipal departments to coordinate with each other to overcome difficulties.
Ren said the Zigong base signifies a joint project between ChemChina and Zigong. It is a strategic step for it to optimize industrial structure and enhance competition. The company will make use of its advantageous resources to push forward on construction.
The base, focuses on coal, electricity, salt, alkali, specialty industries and industrial park, could boost energy-savings, low-carbon and environmental protections, as well as improve traditional industries and adjust industrial structures by technology integration and innovations to enter the strategic emerging sector.
The industry base would consolidate and develop basic chemicals, centering on environmental, materials and life science for the recycling economy and industrial integration. The base utilizes bitterns resources and integrates innovative intellectual property to realize low carbon halogen and alkali process integrating combined-soda process and ammonia-soda process. The traditional industry's competitiveness would get enhanced to realize the new double-soda model. The base would also join with well-known engineering research institutions at home and abroad to construct large tetracarp and methane chloride co-production units. Combined with liquid pentafluoroethane reaction technology, chlorine resources and fluoride resources would get integrated and an environmental-friendly new refrigerant would be developed.
