Since the beginning of the year, the ChemChina trade unions have been following the All China Trade Unions Federation and the State Council State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission’s strategy of remaining at the service of junior staff members to build better teams, improve work overall, and guarantee the rights of staff members. With the 18th National Communist Party Congress just around the corner, the unions want to develop the enterprise and strengthen relations between the Party and the people for a more vigorous, harmonious atmosphere.
Leaders from all levels in the company visited workers on the front line and spoke with them, with 471 team investigators from the company and its subsidiaries taking part. Some high-ranking officials led the front-line effort making 181 individual enquiries. The group also held 487 seminars and forums on industrial law and handed out 19,000 pamphlets. They got 3700 suggestions from staff members and various people and held about 2,000 consultations.
This year, the group has faced some serious challenges because of falling market demand, so they have stuck to the goal of steady growth, structural adjustments, management improvements, and increased benefits, and have had several activities that benefit the staff. In this way, it hopes to make staff members more enthusiastic in promoting the business. It had various activities with the idea of achievements, business objectives, and improved innovative capacity and employee quality in mind, such as staff training, competitions, and innovation races. From January to September, it has held 1,589 training sessions, with 48,000 employees taking part, and 270 competitions, with 13,867 taking part.
