EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. (February 5, 2015) – Bluestar Silicones announces the launch of its newly expanded line of Silbione? soft silicone adhesives at the upcoming Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West Conference (Booth #1759), February 10-13,
Bluestar Silicones announces the launch of its newly expanded line of Silbione? soft silicone adhesives for skin applications, including wound and scar care, transdermal patches and wearable devices.
Bluestar Silicones introduces Silbione? HC2 2022, a new soft silicone skin adhesive designed specifically for wound care applications. This new adhesive gel offers the highest tack level available for enhanced, yet gentle adhesion to the skin. Silbione HC2 2022 is a medium viscosity silicone gel that is compatible with most coating processes and applicable on a wide range of substrates, including PU films, perforated films and open knit fabrics.
Silbione HC2 2022 joins Bluestar Silicones range of wound care soft skin adhesives in varying tack and viscosity levels, manufactured in an ISO 8 clean room in an ISO 13485 facility to ensure quality and microbial safety for use on breached skin and open wounds.
For skin adhesive applications such as wearable devices, scar management and transdermal drug delivery, Bluestar Silicones introduces Silbione? RT Gel 4642. This new high tack silicone gel enables coaters to achieve improved adhesion levels to the skin at lower coat weights than other materials currently available on the market.
“We are excited to introduce these new high adhesion, soft silicone skin adhesives to the marketplace,” said Karen O’Keefe, business director, Elastomers. “Now, high performance adhesion can be achieved with efficiency, as customers no longer have to increase coat weights to gain high tack.”
In addition to silicone skin adhesives, Bluestar Silicones offers a full range of soft, durable, yet flexible silicone technologies ideal for wearable devices, including liquid silicone rubber (LSR), room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicones and silicone foam.
The company’s unique low durometer liquid silicone rubbers, Silbione? LSR 4301 and Silbione? 4305 (01 and 05 ShA), deliver exceptionally high tear strength and elongation for soft cushioning and vibration dampening applications.
Bluestar Silicones patented silicone foam, Silbione? RT Foam 4241, offers low density open cell silicone foam for flexible, breathable yet durable applications.
For electronic applications, Bluestar Silicones offers Bluesil? ESA, a primerless system designed to bond to most plastics and metals. The product line offers excellent deep-section cure with no released by-products, excellent dielectric properties, thermal management and corrosion resistance.
