The 17th China Patent Awards, co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the State Intellectual Property Office of China, have been announced recently. Five patents of companies under ChemChina claimed the Outstanding Patient Award, the best year ever.
A total of 584 patents were awarded this year. The five award-winning patents of ChemChina are: energy-saving reverse osmosis treatment method developed by Hangzhou Water Treatment; the fluidized bed reactor of Bluestar Chengrand Institute; low-viscosity polyurethane pouring sealant and its manufacturing and purposes developed by Liming Research Institute of Chemical Industry; a process that produces natural gas with coke oven gas developed by Southwest Research & Design Institute of Chemical Industry; the method to prepare the PTEF concentrated aqueous dispersion and its application developed by Zhonghao Chenguang Research Institute of Chemical Industry.
Guided by the S&T innovation strategy, ChemChina is active in boosting its research capacity with patent development and has proposed the goal of filing 500 patent applications per year in an attempt to improve the quality by increasing the quantity. The task has received much attention from companies at various levels and become a key vehicle for S&T innovation. The number of patents winning the Outstanding Patent Award is growing year by year. So far, ChemChina has 24 patents winning the Outstanding Patent Award in total.
