According to the Chinese Embassy to Italy, recently, Tronchetti, executive vice chairman and CEO of Pirelli, was appointed to the Italian chairman of China-Italy Entrepreneurs Committee. Before, H.E. Li Ruiyu, Chinese Ambassador to Italy met Ambassador Landi, senior advisor of Pirelli and former diplomatic advisor of the President, and discussed issues including China-Italy Entrepreneurs Committee.
Landi said that as Tronchetti has been appointed as the Italian chairman, he hoped that this platform could be better leveraged to hold more events and implement more cooperative projects, and expected the members of the Committee to make greater contribution to the practical cooperation between the two countries.
Li Ruiyu hoped that the two parties could take advantage of this mechanism to plan regular exchanges and unleash potential and opportunities for cooperation, so as to promote bilateral win-win cooperation.
By report, in 2014, China-Italy Entrepreneurs Committee was decided to establish by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico of Italy, aiming to promote the practical cooperation in high-end consumer goods, environmental protection, energy, food and machine manufacturing and to support the mutually-beneficial trade and investment projects in each countries. Currently, the Committee comprises 200 member enterprises from both countries, and its major functions include analyzing world trade and economic trends, enhancing the economic and trade priority between China and Italy, promoting bilateral cooperation in areas deserving attention and leveraging the synergy of enterprises from the two countries. As the Italy chairman of the Committee, Tronchetti will plan major events of the Board of Directors, coordinate the Committee's relationship with Italian government and organize meetings and events for bilateral cooperation.
