On June 2, ChemChina launched the first “National Theme Month” at its headquarters --- the “Italy-Themed Month” and the opening ceremony for the “Beautiful Italy” exhibition. The Italian Ambassador to China Ettore Francesco SEQUI sent the Minister Counselor Augusto Massari and Cultural Attaché Stefania Stafutti to the event to express congratulations with a bouquet of flower.
The “National Theme Month” is a corporate cultural event launched by ChemChina to strengthen its integration with overseas subsidiaries. Since ChemChina started to go global in 2004, it has attracted companies in France, Britain, Australia, Norway, Israel, Italy and Germany to join its family. So far its overseas staff has totaled 48,000 and the Chinese and overseas companies under it have significantly picked up the pace of coordinated development. The serial event, jointly launched by the head office and overseas subsidiaries, allows its staff at home and abroad to understand each other’s history, culture, economy and society, laying a solid foundation for strengthening the communication, integration, coordination and mutual support between Chinese and overseas subsidiaries. June 2 marked the National Day Celebration of Italy, where Pirelli is located, so it was decided to launch the “Italy-Themed Month” on this particular day.
At the opening ceremony, Minister Counselor Augusto Massari noted that China and Italy were two beautiful countries enjoying a long history and profound cultural heritage and the two countries always led the cultural communication between China and Europe and even between countries around the globe. In recent years, China and Italy have deepened their economic, trade and cultural exchange and cooperation, and the bilateral economic and trade cooperation has entered a new stage led by high-end business and featuring cooperation between strong enterprises. He believed that the cooperation and joint efforts of Chinese and Italian companies would definitely boost the sustainable development of bilateral ties.
In his written speech, ChemChina Chairman Ren Jianxin said, “Working with Pirelli colleagues allows us to know more about Italy, the creativity strategy, superb quality, sense of social responsibility and unique artistic taste of Pirelli and better understand the relation between Pirelli and Italy. The charm of Pirelli and Italy lies with the perfect combination of traditional legacy and modern technology.” He also thanked Pirelli staff for their recent contribution to efficiency improvement in subsidiaries under ChemChina.
After the opening ceremony, the Italian delegation led by Minister Counselor Augusto Massari visited the “Beautiful Italy” exhibition which was dedicated to the splendid history and culture, world renowned architecture and design, superb manufacturing technology, and music and films on a range of topics in Italy.
The Pirelli exhibition zone also stood out, perfectly showing the "fast and furious" products, cutting-edge manufacturing technology, high-end quality and arts and sporty quality of Pirelli. Group photos were taken before racing cars using Pirelli tires. The organizer also invited Pirelli Executive Vice President & CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera to record a video to share his views on competency in ten sentences and on management and teach Chinese colleagues Italian. CEO of Pirelli Asia Pacific Giuseppe Cattaneo was also present at the opening ceremony.
