On November 16, chairman Ren Jianxin held a meeting with the visiting U.S. delegation headed by Iowa governor Terry Branstad at the ChemChina headquarters.
Ren first introduced the latest development of ChemChina and its ongoing deal to acquire Syngenta to governor Branstad. He spoke highly of the Iowa government’s contribution to Sino-U.S. economic and trade exchange under the latter’s leadership and looked forward to extensive and in-depth cooperation in agricultural and other areas with Iowa in the future.
Governor Branstad praised what ChemChina had achieved in international operation in the past 12 years and said that agriculture was a pillar industry in Iowa which had many outstanding agricultural services and solutions to recommend to ChemChina and he would be more than happy to support such communication and services.
Iowa is located in the Midwestern United States, and in the mid and late 20th century, its agricultural economy made the transition to a diversified economy of advanced manufacturing, finance & insurance, biotechnology and green energy products, etc. It beats other U.S. states in mechanical manufacturing. It also leads the country in terms of the average education level of its residents, and more than 90% of its permanent residents have received college education. Governor Branstad is the longest-serving governor in the United States. He has done a lot to facilitate Sino-U.S. friendly exchange and won a high reputation in both China and the United States.
