To mark the past 20 years of airbag developments, Bluestar Silicones International (BSI), an overseas subsidiary of Bluestar, hosted a celebration in Shanghai to share with clients in the Asian-Pacific region BSI’s efforts and progress made in airbag development in the past 20 years.
In 1996, BSI was granted its first patent for airbag coating technology which allowed it to provide reliable silicone coatings for airbag makers and use silicone materials characterized by heat resistance, permeability and mechanical properties to significantly enhance the durability of airbags. In the past 20 years, BSI has been committed to developing heat-resistant and easy-to-process coating materials, providing better products and services for clients and has grown into the first-choice supplier for world leading airbag makers. So far, BSI’s silicone coating has been applied to about one quarters of airbags produced worldwide.
Following the remarkable and fruitful progress in the European and American markets, the Asian-Pacific market also sees its demand growing. Seeing the opportunity, BSI has spent heavily building a production base and a R&D center in Shanghai over these years. Last year, it increased its production capacity to meet the growing demand in the Asian market.
In his speech, BSI Global Market Manager Pierre Defaux for fabric coating thanked clients for their support for BSI’s products as always and promised that BSI would deliver its promise to clients, seek better solutions and create a better future with clients.
