On December 14, Elkem Solar, an overseas subsidiary of Bluestar, announced to receive the financial support of NOK 25.6 million (equivalent to RMB 20.59 million) from Enova SF to adjust and refine its production process and make it more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
Enova SF, founded in 2001, is a wholly state-owned company under the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. According to plant general manager Geir Ausland of Elkem Solar, the investment will propel the company to expand the usage scope of renewable raw materials and help it maintain the leading position in the rapidly changing market.
Statistics show that the clean energy produced by Elkem Solar is supplied to more than 100,000 households per year. The Kristiansand plant, specialized in the production of solar-grade poly silicon, is a key link of the solar panel industrial chain of Elkem, an industrial chain with the lowest carbon footprints in the world.
