The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recently approved the distribution of Selisseo? developed by an overseas subsidiary of Bluestar Adisseo. Selisseo? is an innovative organic selenium source developed by Adisseo on the basis of 2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio) butyric acid. The product has been tested in numerous trials, and has been proved to be able to effectively increase the availability of selenocysteine, an important amino acid.
Selenium, for its high antioxidant capabilities, has been used in animal feeds for dozens of years. Compared with selenium source in the market, Selisseo? is safer and more reliable, and its organic selenium has higher utilization ratio. Organic selenium has advantages of high edible safety, high rate of absorption and utilization as well as high nutritive value. It has no toxic and side effects, and can effectively prevent animal diarrhea and anemia, enhance the anti-stress capability, increase feed conversion ratio and feed palatability.
At the first annual Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC) that was held recently, Selisseo? attracted great attention from the industry. “We’re glad to have the opportunity to talk with ANCC attendees about the benefits of our pure selenium source, especially its unmatched bioavailability,” said Jana Brackenridge, Product Manager, Specialty Products, Adisseo. ”
Rovabio? Advance, another special product of Adisseo, was launched in June 2016. It was well received in the Canadian market, with steady sales growth. The product is a type of combined biological enzyme that can improve the nutritive value of various nutritional contents in feeds. It has different forms of powder, granule and liquid, can improve overall digestibility of feeds, lower customer costs and reduce nutritive loss, and meet the different requirements of various feed mills.
“Adisseo has had a national presence in Canada for over 30 years, and its products series have proved that Adisseo has made great efforts to meet customer demands, and showed that it has strong R&D capabilities and market competitiveness in the field of animal nutrition.” said Andre Gilbert, Canada Country Manager, Adisseo.
