The TwinPeak 2S solar panels produced by REC Solar, an overseas enterprise affiliated with Bluestar, has recently been powering the Annapolis Solar Park in Annapolis, Maryland, the US.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Annapolis Solar Park is the largest landfill reuse project in North America, covering a total area of 80 acres. The park is planned to generate an annual capacity of 24,000 MWh, which can power 2,200 U.S. households annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 13,200 t/y.
“The Annapolis solar installation is a remarkable example of how communities can convert a formerly unusable landfill property into a powerhouse supplier of clean energy that improves the ecological environment around the landfill site, forms a good eco-system, releases a large amount of urban land resources, and creates new jobs for the society. We also consider transforming the abandoned traditional coal power plant into a solar power-generation park in the future so that clean energy can be used more widely,” comments Cary Hayes, President of REC Americas LLC.
REC Solar has always taken environmental protection as its responsibility and committed itself to providing customers with the premium products and services, offering green and clean energy to the society, and contributing to the sustainable development of cities and the economy.
