At 3:45pm on April 15, leaders and staff of the new western workshop of Aeolus of the China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina) welcomed Wu Bangguo, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee. Wu toured workshops that produce 150,000 all-steel engineering radial tyres and 5 million high performance passenger vehicle radial tyres.
Wu first visited Aeolus, 16 years ago. In front of a display board, Wu showed strong interest in viewing photos of his inspection on July 1, 1996. Wu, then vice premier of the State Council, inspected the company, which recorded over 900 million Yuan in sales revenues during that year. For the next 16 years, especially after joining ChemChina, the company achieved sustainable, healthy and fast growth, recording over 10 billion Yuan in sales revenues in 2011 and obtained its highest ever industry rank.
The day of inspection was just before a pioneering three-day, “Open House” for the company. After learning the concept and objectives of open houses, Wu established the program known as, “Practicing Corporate Responsibilities Care, and Letting the Public Further Understand the Corporate”.
During the inspection, Wu spoke about the market share and domestic OEM clients of the company products. He emphasized that the company is exploring domestic and overseas markets and should pay much attention to product quality as an auto supplier. He endorsed its high-quality value culture.
A380 series products were representative products during its transformation when upgrading to the high-end market. Wu approves of its R&D on high-end brands and ‘green tyre’ products. He suggested Aeolus pay greater attention to technical innovations and builds its core competitiveness.
Wu met with over 50 Aeolus staff waiting outside the workshop after his inspection. Looking at the “Open House” display board, Wu said, “Aeolus has developed rapidly in the past 16 years. So much has changed.”
Li Jianguo, vice chairman and secretary-general of the NPC Standing Committee, Lu Zhangong, Henan provincial party secretary, Guo Gengmao, Henan provincial governor and some leaders of the Jiaozuo Municipality Government accompanied the legislator during the inspection.
