The titanium dioxide second workshop party branch of Jinan Yuxing Chemical Co Ltd has played a leading role in the domestic chemicals industry.

The first tank material was hydrolyzed in March 2011.

Wang Junsheng, hydrolyzing section chief leader and a CPC party member, worked on seed crystal configuration in person. Hydrolysis materials finally came into being at 3 am the next day.

Xing Zhaoming, party member as well as director of the process section, had been working in the workshop for 10 years. He did not go home for three days.

Xing knew he was shouldering a heavy responsibility, so he refined his adjustments. Since key hydrolysis processes started running, he threw himself into the front line of productions and grounded himself at the workshop until qualified materials were placed into a coarse materials storehouse from brick kilns.

Jinan Yuxing's production of 100,000 tons of rutile titanium dioxide was launched into operations on June 2011. Smooth productions were achieved in just one month.

Process indicators were excellent and storage products were first-class. The quality had risen along with its adjustments and research work.

The most frequently heard story of party members by workers in the second workshop was, "they always take the lead."

A worker said, "when facing difficulties, party members are always in the forefront. They are good examples for us to do the same."

16 party members were among the 198 employees at the workshop.

Hydrolysis section chief, Wang Junsheng, started working for the company since 1986. He takes pride in his long history with the company.

When encountering unexpected equipment failures, he always takes the lead to solve the problem. He said, "I am more familiar with the problem. It would be safer for me to deal with it."

The leaders feel encourage with the cohesion and morale during the workshop. Some employees have written touching stories about their experiences.

Torrential rains caused flooding in an old factory on May 9, 2010. The factory implemented its flood control measures and all employees carried equipment and products, while marching in water above their knees.

All products were saved. The workshop returned to normal production levels shortly afterwards.

Daily work reflects the love the staff holds for the enterprise. It also reflects a positive impact of cohesion in the party.

The party branch of the titanium dioxide second workshop had inspired employees with a greater sense of responsibility.

Consolidation by sincerity and love.

It takes one-hour to drive from an old factory to a new factory. The long distance has caused much anxiety for employees.

Section foremen always offer to cover shifts about three or four times each month. The "silent action" has inspired employees to work harder.

Young college interns said, "people in Jinan Yuxing Company are kind and humane. We felt like part of an extended family here."

It is common to see some seniors called, "big brother". Workshop employees said, "the leaders have a great affinity. They like to exchange views with us. We feel close to one another when we call them by their names."

Some others added, "those who just come here can hardly tell the difference between the leadership and staff, since we wear the same uniforms and do the same work."

The party branch is known for its democratic management. The staff and  party members meet each other every six months. The branch holds monthly meeting with employee representatives to discuss views.

The staff has their own interpretation of democracy.

They said, "the leaders are around us often. When we do express opinions they listen to it. Our communications are always accessible."

To build cohesion is a goal of grassroots party organizations. It cannot be built in a single day. With more than 90 years of history, the Jinan Yuxing Company has suffered some difficulties.

Bankruptcy of the parent factory, survival of the old factory, construction of a new factory required  leadership. The second titanium dioxide workshop has become a mainstay.

The party branch focuses on a "people-oriented" scientific concept of development to gain trust.

Grass-roots party organizations are launching campaigns among party members to encourage them to serve the public as role models. Winning support is regarded a benchmark for their work.
