Lu Shaohua, Bluestar’s vice-Party secretary and deputy general manager, and Cai Pengfa, Lanzhou Bluestar’s Party secretary and general manager, paid a visit to Gansu province’s Gulang county on Jan 11, 2012 as part of the company’s poverty-relief campaign.
They sent relief funds and daily necessities to three local poverty-stricken families. Lu and the members of his group visited some villagers where the company donated tractors last year to learn more about how the tractors had helped their lives. They also visited the town’s primary school, the Gulang County Vocational School, and two others to get a closer look at how the teaching facilities and students’ lives had been improved. The next day, they got a tour of the county’s Shuangta and Tumen industrial parks.
In wrapping up the visit, Lu met with county Party and government officials, who thanked Bluestar for its relief campaign over the years and spoke positively about the achievements of those efforts. They said they hoped Bluestar would be able to increase its investment and human-resource development efforts. Lu described the company’s relief work for them, and its intention to cooperate and move on to the next stage. He also handed out gifts to 400 pupils on behalf of Bluestar.
