The Bluestar (Tianjin) Chemical Co Ltd has been pushing vocational training for the past nine years and has seen some fruitful results from its effort, with more than 90 percent of the staff members now possessing national professional certification.
Recently, a total of 120 workers and multi-position operators were recognized as technicians. There are now 13 multi-position operators. The technicians, together with multi-position operators will enjoy subsidies of two years (in addition to wages) from the company.
During the vocational training period, the company established a “Grade-3 education and training system” for its employees, and improved its “Grade-2 education and training systems” and formed a training network consisting of teams and branches. It has also held fire-control training sessions for its workers.
Most important, the company has introduced a national vocational certification system to the 14 positions in its production plants and auxiliary production system, and is providing subsidies (in addition to wages) for technicians. All of these measures will encourage employees to study harder and to make progress in their work and lives.
Thanks to the company’s efforts and the cooperation of the workers, it has completed a structural change in the workforce, with mid-level and senior technicians as the mainstay. At the same time, a large number of high-quality, passionate workers have emerged, to play a leading role in production and overall operations, and an important role in company development.
