ChemChina’s engineering center recently installed a chemical analysis center for carbon fiber testing, with support from its Bluestar counterpart, and, after some experimentation, pronounced it ready for use.
The engineering center’s carbon fiber research facility was approved by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission in 2011. Thanks to Technology Commission and Bluestar support, it has focused on “Key technologies for the domestic production of high-performance carbon fiber” and seen a great improvement in its analytical and testing ability.
The center has spent over 20 million yuan on large, more sophisticated equipment -- including XPS, SEM, XRD, RAMAN, and Micro-FTIR -- to meet structural characterization and surface chemical analysis demands in dealing with carbon fiber, pushing the center’s analytical and testing level to a new high.
The center mainly serves ChemChina companies but is open to the outside world as well. It is striving to be an important place for technological innovation at the corporate level and carbon fiber engineering to promote carbon fiber development in China.
