The Zhenghe Group received a meritorious enterprise award from the city of Dongying, Shandong province, on March 15, at both the municipal and county level. The recognition was accompanied by a 1.1 million-yuan ($ 170,000) cash award.
The Zhenghe Group is a part of the China National Chemical Corp (ChemChina) and the ChemChina Petrochemical Corp. It has total revenues of 10 billion yuan last year, in spite of a raw materials shortage, prices fluctuations, less market demand, and difficulties in improving efficiency.
The company has developed better performances overall, in production, operations, administration, informatization, safety, and environmental protection, by taking advantage of economic opportunities, clearly defining its main work guideline, singling out key tasks, introducing the best practices, promoting lean management, and overcoming setbacks.
Since the beginning of the year, the company has concentrated on profits in a 100-day Sales Contest and with tighter budget management, while emphasizing lean production, process controls, index analysis of operations, and making development more intense. It has improved its supply and demand plan and production controls to increase capacity and efficiency. In this way, it already showed some noteworthy success in income and profits by February, marking a good beginning to the first quarter.
There are only 10 winners for the Dongying Meritorious Enterprise Awards this year. To qualify, companies will need assets of more than 400 million yuan and an annual income above 2 billion yuan. They will also need to be industrial leaders in their drive, pace of development, benefits, income, and profits and should be able to hit their annual energy-saving and emissions targets. There can be no major accidents in their production quality, environmental pollution, public health, and social security for a full year and they should support social welfare, supply timely, factual financial information, pay insurance and wages of employees on time, and not be involved in any illegal activities.
