Following the midyear economic operation analysis meeting, China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina) held a special meeting to discuss key work on August 5. Leaders of ChemChina and its branches attended this meeting.
Ren Jianxin firstly delivered a summary of the recently held seminar. He said it implemented the guiding principles of the Fifth Plenum of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party and the National 12th Five-Year Plan. It also summarized the work of the first half year, analyzed the current economic situation, deployed the tasks in the second half year, discussed in depth how the company would realize the goal of “being excellent, strong and internationally competitive” put forth by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). It injected new force for the promotion and development of central enterprises. Director Wang Yong made an important speech. He analyzed the progress of enterprises’ production and operation and the key work in the first half of the year. He urged the enterprises to pay close attention to and understand the current economic situation, and to work hard during the second half of the year. He also hoped the enterprises would maintain its steady production and operation, carry out the plans in the “12th Five-Year” period, quicken restructuring, continue to push on all reforms, study the points made in the speech by Chinese President Hu Jintao on July 1 and strengthen the safety, stability and media publicity of central enterprises. The meeting also delivered the special reports from the Bureau of Research, Bureau of Enterprise Reform, Bureau of Policies, Laws and Regulations and Bureau of Planning and Development of SASAC.
The personnel department delivered a report on talent development called “talent plan, human resource reform and CHRO cultivation”. The finance department made a speech, “debt reduction, overall budgetary management and CFO cultivation”. The planning & development department delivered, “adjustment of difficult enterprises and SMEs”. The PR department gave a speech, “public sentiments”.
At the meeting, Jiangxi Xinghuo Organosilicon Plant was invited to introduce its experience in building corporate culture and around-the-clock operation. The theme was ‘love BlueStar and contribute to Xinghuo’. The plant hosted interesting activities for the building of corporate culture, wholeheartedly served the staff and workers, raised their happiness index, strived to become a model plant. It had turned itself from an enterprise on the verge of bankruptcy into a national leading enterprise and a pacemaker of the industry.
