He Guoqiang, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official, arrived in the Norwegian capital of Oslo on the evening of June 10 for an official visit to Norway.
He Guoqiang attended events in Norway on June 11 attended by Ren Jianxin, the president and CPC secretary of China National Chemical Group (ChemChina).
He Guoqiang met Mr. Ren in the morning at Statoil headquarters, where they spoke about ChemChina’s investment plan in Norway as well as ChemChina’s operations in European countries. He Guoqiang granted full recognition to ChemChina’s progress in internationalization, giving new hopes for ChemChina’s brighter future.
The Sino-Norway entrepreneurs’ meeting was held at 9 o’clock on June 11, and was jointly sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry. Gao Hucheng, vice minister of Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and Trond Giske, minister of Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, presided at the meeting. He Guoqiang was invited to the meeting, and made an important speech.
Mr Ren addressed the meeting on the future cooperation between Chinese and Norwegian companies. Before the meeting, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between ChemChina and Orkla ASA of Norway, with He Guoqiang attending the signing ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by Wang Jiarui, minister of Chinese International Department, Gan Yisheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Gao Hucheng, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Tang Guoqiang, the Chinese ambassador in Norway, Trond Giske, minister of Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Svein Ole Saether, the Norwegian ambassador to China.
In the afternoon, He Guoqiang attended events with Mr Ren, meeting delegates of overseas Chinese, China-invested enterprises and abroad students, taking group photos to mark the occasion.
Mr Ren attended the Norwegian banquet, holding discussions with friends from various fields in Norway on the communication and cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.
Lu Xiaobao, acting CEO of China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd, also attended the events.
