ChemChina Safe Production Committee holds teleconference

On June 11th, ChemChina Safe Production Committee held an extended meeting via conference-call with its subsidiaries. The committee provided a briefing on the situation of safe production across the board and identified major problems.

Apart from the implementation of the Essentials for Safe Production ChemChina 2009, the meeting also decided to enhance company managers' awareness of and accountability for safe production, provide rigorous training to employees to strengthen their understanding in this regard and institutionalize all management, support and supervision functions. The meeting also provided that a healthy concept of business performance centered on safe production should be fostered, a responsibility contract system should be established with equipment management departments, safety management regulations should be tailored to contractors and emergency aid drills should be stepped up at production sites.

As part of its strategy to further promote safe production, ChemChina recently commended Jiangsu Anpon Electrochemical Co., Ltd. and 15 other subsidiaries as "model enterprises for safe production" and 98 work teams as "model work teams for safe production." At the same time 1,592 individual star performers were awarded honorary credentials.

ChemChina encourages all the subsidiaries and employees to model themselves on the honored star performers by enhancing safe production awareness, implementing accountability systems and cultivating a positive outlook on safe production.
