On May 7th, Academician Zhang Yi, Director of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) made an investigation of the pilot project for cleaner production of 10,000 t/a chromic salts with liquid phase oxidation process at BlueStar Yima Chrome Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. This inspection tour is one of the many consultation service activities jointly organized by several governmental departments, to provide scientific support for enterprises to deal with the global financial crisis and maintain fast yet stable economic growth.
The project has been co-developed by BlueStar and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where this new world-class process was developed and patented and is listed as a project of the National 863 Program. The process boasts advantages such as zero discharge of chromic residue, in-depth utilization of resources at lower costs, and products containing lower sulfur radical content. (Wu Chunxiang)
