The Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery Co has founded an operations and maintenance center, with help from Sinclair Knight Merz, to build up a more professional, efficient maintenance team as part of its Bluestar World-Class Manufacturing (BWCM) project. The center is staffed with engineers and maintenance planners, schedulers, and technicians.
When the center receives a maintenance worksheet, planners prioritize the needs and go to the related shop to check equipment malfunctions and provide maintenance suggestions. Maintenance schedulers then prepare a worksheet with a deadline for relevant technicians, who then fix the equipment. There is also a final exam based on BWCM requirements. The work orders, with the supervisor’s signature, are then filed. The center has so far received 57 maintenance orders, 31 have been closed, and 42 that have maintenance suggestions. The center wants to improve maintenance quality for smoother assets management and better production.
