The Haohua Honghe Chemical Co has gained approval for its province-level academic workstation, the first of this kind in the city of Zigong. Haohua Honghe also asked Zhou Guangyao, a soda industry leader and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, to put together an R&D team, in a move to transform the “academics enrich enterprises” mechanism into an “academics help enterprises” one. And, with some help from the city and provincial academic workstations, the company will speed up its innovation, and make a leap for the whole industry and achieve remarkable regional innovation.
A 600000-ton hot-press method Hou’s process soda device, developed by Haohua Honghe and the China Chengda Engineering Co was used for a Honghe relocation program. In 2011, China Chengda began forming a team, led by experts including Zhou Guangyao, soda experts from Haohua Honghe and Xu Changli, a professor who enjoys a special government allowance. The team removed technology bottlenecks, identified potential problems and began preparing to introduce the device, and completed the world’s first 600000-ton hot-press method Hou’s process soda device, last August.
The R&D work of the academic station will aid the enterprise in its science and technology innovations, optimal use of salt and soda resource of Zigong, improve the soda ash industry, and drive the local economy.
