The fiber and apparel supercritical carbon dioxide anhydrous staining technique, jointly developed by Guangming Research & Design Institute of the Chemical Industry and Dalian Polytechnic University, received the second-place prize for technological invention from the Ministry of Education.
At the moment, it takes 3-4 tons of water to dye 100 meters of cloth in the domestic industry. For a company that produces tens of thousands of cloth a day, water consumption can reach over 100 tons. The technology utilizes carbon dioxide waste in place of an aqueous medium and realizes clean fiber staining through biochrome supercritical carbon dioxide extraction and dyeing. This cutting-edge technology has superseded traditional dyeing methods, solved water pollution problems and realized harmonious development between economy and environment.
