(Reported by Zhang Yunzhong) A strategic cooperation agreement was signed recently by and between Liming Research & Design Institute of Chemical Industry Co., Ltd and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). Liming Institute General Manager Yang Maoliang and BUCT Vice President Wang Feng attended the signing ceremony held at the university and inked the agreement on behalf of the respective side. Also present at the ceremony were heads of related departments of Liming Institute, as well as leaders and professors of the BUCT Office of Scientific Research and Development, BUCT Faculty of Science, BUCT College of Materials Science and Engineering, and BUCT School of Energy. The ceremony was chaired by Yang Xiaoping, Executive Vice President of BUCT Office of Scientific Research and Development.
In his welcoming speech, Mr. Wang Feng extended a warm welcome to Yang Maoliang and the other representatives of Liming Institute, and offered congratulations on the agreement. He briefly introduced the university’s scientific research work and important measures for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, hoping that the two sides could deepen bilateral cooperation on the principle of mutual benefit and win-win development with the agreement as a strategic opportunity.
Mr. Yang Maoliang made speech on behalf of Liming Institute. After a brief summary of the institute’s 50-year history, scientific accomplishments, as well as plans and ideas for future development, he said that Liming Institute is willing to be an incubation base of BUCT for the transformation of scientific achievements by providing excellent conditions for BUCT teachers’ scientific research and students’ practice. He expressed the hope that both sides could join hands to realize common development.
After the ceremony, representatives of the two sides had discussions and exchanged views on how to implement the agreement.
To draw upon others’ strengths and realize innovation-based development, Liming Institute has strengthened cooperation with universities, research institutions, enterprises and local governments in a bid to bring in high-caliber talents and high-end technologies, elevate its technological level, and promote the transformation of scientific achievements both inside and outside the institute. So far, Liming Institute has joined hands with BUCT, KraussMaffei, Dalian University of Technology, Zhengzhou University, etc., in its innovation efforts, and cooperation-based development has been put high on the Institute’s agenda.
