Recently, the synthetic rubber technologies of the Liming Research Institute of Chemical Industry (LRICI) have been highlighted in Turkey, an important country along the “Belt and Road”. The whole set of technologies and equipments provided by LRICI for the Turkish synthetic rubber production equipment has successfully passed the acceptance check of the general contractor and was highly praised by the Turkish purchaser.
In October 2012, the contract of Turkish synthetic rubber project was signed; in May 2014, the detailed design review was carried out before the construction; in October 2016, all construction tasks related to civil construction, equipment installation and pipeline laying were completed. During the construction period of the project, LRICI cooperated closely with the general contractor and the Turkish purchaser, overcame such obstacles and difficulties as difference in technical standard, culture and language as well as poor safety situation, and successfully implemented all the work on schedule.
To ensure success in project start-up, in March 2017, LRICI sent a dozen of service technicians to the site in Turkey for process examination, test run and training guidance. On April 26, 201, the test run of the Turkish synthetic rubber equipment made a success, and its first batch of products have been proved to be successful. After more than 40 days of operation, the unit operated smoothly, with all the assessment indexes reaching the acceptance requirements as stipulated in the contract. On June 9, LRICI and the general contractor held a signing ceremony for inspection check at the site of the Turkish synthetic rubber production unit.
It is reported that synthetic rubber technology is one of the most influential technologies of LRICI, which, in the past 40 years, kept applying laboratory research results in the engineering equipment, made improvements and upgrades, and used the distributed control system (DCS) to carry out automatic testing and control of technical process parameters. The technology is one of technologies featuring advanced technology, reliable operation and economic rationality and enjoys high reputations in domestic and overseas markets.
