On May 25, good news came from Uzbekistan that Angren Tire Plant project constructed by Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery successfully passed the acceptance of the equipment. After one and a half years of hard work, the Uzbekistan project under China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative, that was undertaken by the company, has been accomplished.

In September 2016, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery started the design and manufacturing of two GK-400N and GK-190E internal mixers and one 2.2m×10.6m wire-rope conveyor belt curing press line, with Beijing Research & Design Institute of Rubber Industry as the main contractor. The conveyor belt line is the first production line for wire-rope conveyor belt curing press in Uzbekistan.

In order to research and design the optimal production plans and processes, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery invited KraussMaffei's technical experts from Germany to work together with the local team to hold a special seminar on the project, so as to ensure the quality and production progress of bid-winning products. After more than half a year of meticulous work, the customized equipment for the project was successfully tested with a dead load in the assembly workshop. In April 2017, internal mixers and large curing presses were transported to Uzbekistan, an ancient country along the Silk Road. In July, this batch of equipment successfully arrived at the destination Angren Tire Plant, which started the ten-month period of installation and commissioning.

In order to complete the project as soon as possible, we did our best to create a quality model project and produce demonstration effects overseas. Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery sent a team of nearly 10 professional technicians to Uzbekistan for installation and commissioning. They overcame unaccustomed climate and living conditions, continued summer heat and extreme winter cold, and wind and sand to work together with the project experts and the Uzbek party to deal with difficulties and carefully install and debug. Finally, they ensured that the project was completed as planned.

In April 2018, Angren Tire Plant smoothly produced the first high-strength, impact-resistant, large-width wire-rope conveyor belt in Uzbekistan. After on-site testing, all technical indicators met the design requirements, writing a new chapter that Uzbekistan can produce this product. Since then, with the normal operation of the production line and the smooth production of more conveyor belts, major acceptance projects such as main machine, tension stations, molding vehicles, and drawstring machines have been accepted one after the other. The two sides have finally signed the acceptance document for the equipment handover.

It is reported that the production line of Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery involved in the construction has been highly recognized by the project contractor and the Uzbek side. Relevant persons in charge said that the successful implementation of the project is a successful example of the advanced rubber technology and leading rubber equipment enterprises within ChemChina supporting the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
