Recently, China’s Ministry of Science and Technology has released a list of key projects approved for the “recycling of solid wastes”, a national key research & development program for 2018. The project titled “Integrated Demonstration of Recycled Utilization of Bulk Wastes in Qinghai Salt Lake Chemical Industry Zone”, for which Changsha Engineering Institute Co., Ltd. (Changsha Institute) has taken part in the application, was approved.
The project was jointly applied for by 10 organizations including Changsha Institute, which have made demonstrations for researches on and commercialization of key technologies, aiming to address the problems of difficulties in disposal of bulk wastes in Qinghai Salt Lake Chemical Industry Zone and severe environmental pollutions, seek for comprehensive solutions for recycled utilization of bulk wastes in the Salt Lake Chemical Industry Zone, and provide technological supports for expanding the scale of the industry of resources recycling and utilization, increasing the efficiency of utilization of salt sources, and China’s ecological civilization.
The leaders of Changsha Institute attached great importance to the project application and worked actively to set up a project application team, of which main members went to Qinghai, Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai for cooperation, consulted with the partners on application materials, successfully passed the oral defense, and finally approved and funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The project is another historical breakthrough of Changsha Institute in application for national key research & development projects and recognition of the institute’s capabilities of scientific research, technical innovation and industrial demonstration, further enhancing the influence and competitiveness of the institute in the industry.
